All Math Classes:   You are doing a great job with getting your homework completed and turned in on time. Keep up the good work! Remember that you will get a CR each week and will have a week to work on it. Do not wait until Sunday night to complete it. Make it your goal to complete it by Friday, so you do not have to worry about it over the weekend. I suggest doing a few problems each day.

Grades are now in INOW! I will try to have all grades in and updated by Tuesday afternoons. Please check over your grades and let me know if you ever have a question about your grade.

Advanced Math this Week 8/27-8/31

You will have your first test on Thursday, 8/30. The test will cover adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals. You will get your test review sheet on Monday. We will go over the answers in class on Tuesday. The test review will be your only homework this week, so make sure you study over your notes. I will have an afternoon study session on Wednesday from 3:15-4:30 for those that need extra help. Please bring a permission note if you plan on staying on Wednesday. Please make sure you make arrangements for a ride home after the study session.

Regular Math this Week 8/27-8/31

You will not have a test this week. This week we will focus on division of whole numbers. We will start out with 1 digit divisors on Monday/Tuesday then 2 digit divisors  starting on Wednesday.

WELCOME TO 6th GRADE MATH

I hope you have enjoyed the beginning of the start of this new school year here at Bumpus. We always have several things to do at the beginning of the year that will help us be successful all year long. Please look over the list below to make sure you have completed everything on the list.

1) Set-up Binder- Use the pocket folders and make sections for each subject:  Math, Lang. Arts, Science, and Social Studies. If you want to add a section for your Elective class that will be okay too. Behind the Math Section you need to use the plain dividers ( ones without pockets) to make the following sections: Notes, Warm-ups, Homework, CR's, and Quizzes. Your loose leaf paper should be in the back of the binder.

2) Join Google Classroom for you math class period. Here are the codes for each math period:

1st Regular Math - 4j7mnkt
2nd Regular Math- l727wk
3rd Advanced Math- v358q3
6th Advanced Math - mkugo45
7th Advanced Math- 1r3per

3) Set-up your math textbook online and save the information for easy access. There are no spaces in username and password.

Online Textbook:  my.hrw.com
Username: Bumpus2018-19
Password: team6-3

4) Get on IXL and start practicing skills on grade level 6 or level G. We will start out the year with adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing whole numbers and decimals.

5) Share with your parents the math information note that I gave you in class. Tell your parents that my email address is kiwilliams@hoover.k12.al.us  and not kwilliams. Also, remind your parents about the school meeting on Monday, August 20th from 6:00-8:00. The meeting will give your parents a chance to meet all of your teachers and hear about the things we will be doing in 6th grade.

6) Pat yourself on the back because you have made it through the first whole week of school. 😊

Have a great weekend!
Ms. Williams
